Ruidoso Home Care offers a wide array of services available to be performed in the home, allowing individuals familiar surroundings when they are in need of specialized treatment and personal care assistance.

 

Home health care helps individuals recover in the place where they are most comfortable—at home. It covers a wide range of services including occupational & physical therapy, speech therapy, skilled nursing, wound care and much more.

 

It is important to understand the difference between home health care and home care services. Although they sound the same (and home health care may include some home care services), home health care is more medically oriented. While home care typically includes chore and housecleaning services, home health care involves helping individuals recover from an illness or injury. That is why the people who provide home health care are licensed registered and practical nurses, therapists, and home health aides.

Nursing Services

SKILLED NURSING, which includes:

• Case management and coordination of care with the physician
• Diabetes education
• Caregiver training
• Foot care
• Palliative and terminal care
• Wound and ostomy care
• Pain Management
• Medication Management and education
• Disease Management and education
• Assessment and evaluation of health status
• Care supervision and management
• Patient and family education on disease treatment and prevention
• New mother and baby care and education

PRIVATE DUTY NURSING CARE provided by RN’s, LPN’s, and nursing assistants.  We strive to make this service available at affordable rates. 

HOME HEALTH AIDES to assist with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.

 

Medical Social Worker

SOCIAL SERVICES, which may include assistance in accessing community programs, assistance in dealing with the social and emotional factors related to the client’s illness and need for care, or help with long-range planning or short-term counseling.

 

Therapies

PHYSICAL THERAPY for reconditioning following a prolonged illness, acute rehabilitation following orthopedic surgery, stroke, or head injury, Cardiac Rehabilitation, development of a Home Exercise Program to facilitate maximum independence, and Home Safety Evaluation.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY services include:  Energy Conservation Techniques for people with respiratory and/or cardiac impairment, Medication Management/Compliance, Environmental Adaptations, Adaptive Equipment Training, Contracture Management, Splinting and Positioning, Patient/Caregiver Education and Training, and ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Retraining: feeding, dressing, bathing and hygiene.

SPEECH/LANGUAGE THERAPY services include Rehabilitation following a stroke or head/neck injury or surgery when speech and/or swallowing is affected, evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders, and evaluation and treatment of speech disorders.
